Natural Migraine Relief At Birmingham Wellness Center

Are migraines and headaches keeping you from enjoying the things you love most? Dr. Bonde and her experienced team offer a holistic approach to headache and migraine relief through a combination of chiropractic adjustments, massage therapy, yoga therapy and nutritional counseling. We understand that a wide variety of lifestyle factors contribute to headache and migraine and why we strive to help our patients discover the underlying cause to help provide both relief and preventive care.

How Natural Migraine Relief Works

Our chiropractor, Dr. Bonde will discuss your personal experience of migraines to suggest which healing modalities are most ideal for your needs. First we will discuss the lifestyle factors that may be contributing to your pain such as poor diet, occupational stress, long hours in front of the computer, sleep issues and more. We will also ask questions about sports or fitness routines you are involved in. While migraines are usually the result of a combination of these factors, in many cases your fitness routine may have caused a subluxation that has misaligned vertebrae resulting in ongoing migraines. After a thorough discussion and examination Dr. Bonde will discover the answers to these questions.

Chiropractic care aims to remove miscommunication with the nervous system and rest of the body by realigning the spinal column. In many cases where vertebrae have been misaligned for extended periods of time, supporting muscular structures, tendons, ligaments and soft tissues have also moved to compensate. When this occurs, massage therapy is the perfect complement to your chiropractic adjustments. Massage therapy will help relax and soften tissue so that our chiropractor will be able to provide a more thorough adjustment. The length of treatment sessions will be determined after your body begins responding to the first phase of relief care.

Dietary stress often contributes to inflammation and our experience of pain. Dr. Bonde will discuss your dietary habits to discover if you are experiencing food sensitivities or perhaps deficiencies that could be contributing to your migraines. She will offer individualized suggestions to help enhance your diet and may also recommend high quality, nutritional supplements to complement your daily routine. Our Paleo diet program can help correct many nutritional deficiencies and offer the body the "reset" it often needs. And, if you are vegetarian, not to worry, you can still practice the paleo lifestyle with our guidance.

When stress is part of the underlying cause of migraines our chiropractor endeavors to help our patients identify the most prominent stress causing factors. In many cases Dr. Bonde suggests yoga to assist in both stress reduction and as a gentle, yet powerful way to stretch and increase strength. At Birmingham Wellness Center we offer yoga to people at all learning levels with beginner and intermediate classes. Our classes are at convenient times to suit our patient's varying schedules.

If you suffer from chronic headache or migraine, let us help by offering a holistic approach to healing.
