Dr. Jennifer Turnbull Bonde
Dr. Jennifer Turnbull Bonde is a Chiropractic Physician and the Director of the Birmingham Wellness Center. Dr. Bonde’s holistic approach allows her to help patients achieve health through nutritional counseling, applied kinesiology, chiropractic adjustments and massage therapy. She sees a wide range of patients with sports injuries, environmental stresses, weight loss and detoxification, as well as spinal pain. Dr. Bonde completed her Bachelor of Science and Doctorate degrees at Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Bonde holds a postgraduate certificate in Applied Kinesiology and has completed two years of postgraduate neurology. Dr. Lou Harp
Dr. Lou Harp is a Chiropractic Physician and has been practicing in Birmingham for over thirty years. Dr. Harp sees a wide range of patients with sports injuries, neurological issues, and back pain. Dr. Harp completed his Doctorate degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic, located in Davenport Iowa. Dr. Harp completed his undergraduate studies at Franconia College, Franconia, New Hampshire. Dr. Harp is certified in Applied Kinesiology, has completed four years of postgraduate neurology, and specializes in Neurology and Cranial Techniques.
Dr. Inessa Daniv
Dr. Daniv completed her Doctorate degree from National University of Health Sciences, located in Lombard, Illinois and her undergraduate education at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Daniv is certified in Applied Kinesiology and has over 500 hours of advanced Applied Kinesiology training. Dr. Daniv helps her patients heal themselves naturally through chiropractic. Services provided include: natural medicine/natural hormone replacement therapy, chiropractic urgent care, sports injuries/rehabilitation, digestive wellness, and whole family/geriatric care.
Dr. Marc Terebelo
Dr Marc Terebelo has over 26 years of experience as a chiropractic physician in our community. The recipient of 14 awards of commendation and excellence by the Michigan Chiropractic Society, Dr Terebelo prides himself in providing conscientious quality care for his patients. Dr Terebelo completed his doctorate degree from Life Chiropractic College in Marietta, Georgia and mastered Applied Kinesiology from its developer, Dr George Goodheart. He has been a member of the International College of Applied Kinesiology for over 22 years. Dr Terebelo advanced his non-invasive diagnostic skills under the tutelage of Dr Ellen Cutler and is an expert at utilizing the BIOSET system of allergy desensitization. Dr Terebelo successfully treats the whole family, from the youngest the of eldest, providing comprehensive holistic care from chiropractic adjustments to advanced diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of health challenges. Through attention to the spine and the nervous system and providing the appropriate individualized nutrition, Dr Terebelo achieves impressive results that keep his patients healthy and strong.
Sarah Young
Sarah Young is a Certified Massage Therapist, Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) practitioner, and a Chi Walking/Running instructor. AIS is a method of muscle lengthening and fascial release that provides effective, dynamic, facilitated stretching of major muscle groups. Her training in martial arts provides her with firsthand understanding of functional biomechanics. Young continues to broaden her knowledge of how the mind, body and spirit work together. Young has a Bachelor of Science from Western Michigan University, a degree in Massage Therapy from Irene Gauthier of Irene’s Myomassology, a Masters in Exercise Science from Oakland University, and a graduate certificate from Oakland University in Complementary Medicine and Wellness.
Melissa Stchekine
Melissa Stchekine is a Certified Massage Therapist (ABMP) and a graduate of Massage Therapy from Irene's Myomassology Institute. She is currently studying Reflexology/Meridian therapy. These modalities are based on principles that help locate and alleviate pain and disfunction within the body. Regular massage can support proper integration of body and mind, relieve stress and pain, and assist in achieving better health. She believes life can be a relaxed, happy and pain-free experience. In listening to the body verbal and non-verbal reactions to her touch and pressure, Melissa creates a unique client-specific massage session.
Jennifer Boruch
Jennifer Boruch is a certified massage therapist and graduate of the Blue Heron Academy of Healing Arts and Sciences. Jennifer is trained in Medical Massage Therapy which help with musculoskeletal conditions related to injury, disease and aging. These techniques promote soft tissue repair, joint movement and healing. She also utilizes cranial sacral therapy, myofascial release, swedish massage and lymphatic drainage techniques as needed to help restore a balanced state of health.
Elle Garfield
Elle Garfield, LMSW, CAAC, RYT, LYP, is the founder of Awareness Counseling. She has a wide range of experience providing services to adolescents, adults and families. Elle worked at Oakland Family Services for several years as an outpatient psychotherapist, addictions counselor and group therapist before starting her private practice within the Birmingham Wellness Center.
She has been teaching classes and offering workshops for ten years. Elle was a featured panelist by Fox 2 News on parenting at the Women’s Expo in Novi. She presented “8 Steps to a Well Behaved Child” to the Parent Education Program of the Birmingham Bloomfield Families in Action. Elle also co-led a workshop entitled “Depression-proof your Life”. She has been teaching Hatha yoga for five years and also teaches prenatal yoga and yoga for depression and anxiety for individuals and groups.
Elle received her Master’s degree in Social Work from Wayne State University in 1997. She completed her training as a yoga teacher in 2004 and as a Life force yoga practitioner advanced level by Amy Weintraub, the author of Yoga for Depression in 2007. Elle holds a certificate as an Advanced Addictions Counselor and has extensive experience with 12 step recovery.
Elle now accepts most insurance.
Jeffrey Rogers
Jeffrey Rogers completed his training in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine at The Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine located in Denver, Co, and his undergraduate education at Wayne State University in Detroit, Mi. Jeffrey is nationally board certified in acupuncture and is a member of the Michigan Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and the American Association of Oriental Medicine. He has been practicing in the metro Detroit area since 1999. Jeffrey uses acupuncture and its related therapies to create balance in the body thus releasing your full healing potential. Jeffrey has experience in treating a wide range of conditions including allergies, headaches, reproductive issues in both men and women, acute and chronic pain, and general health and well-being. In his spare time Jeffrey enjoys outdoor activities, coaching his sons baseball team, and spending time with his family.
Janelle Songer
Janelle Songer is a Certified Massage Therapist and has been practicing in Michigan since 2003. She is a graduate of the Ann Arbor Institute of Massage Therapy where she trained primarily in Myofascial and Neuromuscular Therapies. Together, these two modalities create a deeply therapeutic massage as they address chronic as well as acute pain held within the body. Janelle is also trained in Thai Yoga Massage which she studied while traveling through Thailand. Thai Yoga Massage is a dynamic yet relaxing form of massage that combines passive stretching with acupressure in order to increase movement and flexibility within the joints, muscles and energy lines of the body.
Derek Rutt
Derek Rutt is a Certified Massage Therapist (ABMP) and a graduate of Massage Therapy from Irene's Myomassology Institute. He currently participates in a couple of Massage work groups in the local area; One focuses on Myofascial Release, the other on Sports Massage and Soft Tissue Release. With these modalities integrated with more traditional massage like Swedish, Shiatsu, and Deep Tissue, favorable results can be achieved for BWC's clients. Derek is also planning on obtaining his Personal Trainer certification, he believes that the aspects learned here can also benefit the clients he treats. Derek is happy and feels privileged to serve the community in this capacity. With all things in life, having a positive outlook is essential in achieving that healthy balance we strive for.
